The Corbin Hill Food Project is forging new connections between upstate farms and residents of the South Bronx, all while redefining the traditional farm-share model.

By subsidizing the cost of shares through partnerships with neighborhood groups and nonprofit organizations, Corbin Hill is making the cost of fresh, locally-grown fruits and vegetables manageable for the community, some of whom live at more than 200 percent below poverty level.

The group also provides services to more than 30 farmers in Schoharie County, including aggregation, delivery, and distribution infrastructure to move the goods downstate, so that farmers don’t have to provide transportation themselves.
