The NYER team is small —there are just three of us! — but New York is big. We want NYER to be comprehensive and in-depth, but we don’t have the man- and woman-power to be everywhere all the time. That’s where you come in. Here are ways you can get involved:

Story Tips:

Is there an environmental issue in your community that you think needs more attention? Got an idea for a story or post? Drop us a line: Story tips, ideas, and suggestions are always welcome.

Pitch Us:

Interested in helping us cover local environmental issues? Got a story you’d like to write? Pitch us! Send us an outline or description of the story you’d like to cover, and then we can talk details:

Join Our Team:

Looking for a more formal relationship? We are looking to fill the following roles:

  • Borough correspondents (covering each of NYC’s five boroughs)
  • New York State correspondents (from every corner of the state)
  • Data journalists (to analyze and write about environmental data sets)
  • Photojournalists
  • Graphic designers (we’re specifically interested in data visualization and infographics)
  • Op/Ed contributors

Support our Work:

Reporting, writing, and investigating issues takes time — especially if you want to do it right. NYER is made possible by reader contributions. Please consider making a donation to support our work!
